REI will soon be opening two locations in Alabama.
The outdoor co-op announced plans to host a REI Birmingham grand opening event on Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6.
REI Huntsville is set to open Oct. 18, and the grand opening event is set for Friday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 17 according to the REI website.
“Alabama is an exciting location for REI, and we are thrilled to bring our first two stores to the state this fall,” Gail Kirkland, REI retail director for the South, said in a press release. “We look forward to investing in the local outdoor community and connecting our members to the outdoor spaces that make this area special.

REI Birmingham will be located at 335 Summit Blvd. REI Huntsville will be located at 1035 Mid City Drive NW.
REI Birmingham will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5, and it will open at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6. Festivities are scheduled for 3 until 6 p.m. each day as part of REI Birmingham’s grand opening event.
