All good things must come to an end. In this case, that good thing is the original Hike Alabama logo.

Here’s a little bit of history: When Hike Alabama was in its early days, I paid a local college student to develop the original Hike Alabama logo.

She did a great job, especially considering that I gave her very little direction. All I told her was this is a brand focused on Alabama and the outdoors.

After presenting a couple of initial concepts, she ran with and developed what remains the Hike Alabama logo to this day. She did a great job, and I was and I am pleased with it today.

As this thing we call Hike Alabama evolves, our brand must reflect that change and evolution. While I still like the original logo, several people I trust and admire have suggested that the Hike Alabama logo could use a fresh coat of paint.

Those who know me well understand that I am an open minded individual who enjoys innovation, enhancements, and constant assessment and examination in order to make things better (and if you don’t know me well, you are welcome to follow my personal Instagram at @CraigWilliamsPR).

The people have spoken, and we hear you. I am a man of action and we are a team of action, so it’s time for a new Hike Alabama logo.

Here’s what we are looking for, and we will be very direct about it. We want a good, high quality logo that is reflective of our brand and values. Those values include promoting the incredible outdoor destinations across our great state; doing our part to protect the environment; and living a deliberate, intentional, and meaningful life.

Also, I am a man who values value. I am a debt-free, cost efficient guy, and it gives me great joy to make smart purchasing decisions (we are smart when it comes to making purchases and we often buy things used, boys and girls!–unless you have some money you are dying to spend. If you do, go visit the Hike Alabama Shop on Amazon and a small percentage of your purchase will help support Hike Alabama. It doesn’t cost you any extra, and it only takes a few bucks out of Amazon’s wallet and puts them in ours).

I understand you get what you pay for when it comes to graphic design. However, I also understand that graphic design does not have to cost four to five figures.

For example, I have had good experiences working with college students in the past, and I have been one of those college students who has been the recipient of people instilling faith, confidence and trust in me that gave me valuable experience.

Calling Graphic Designers
So here’s the ask: If you are a talented graphic designer (a current graphic designer–not somebody who created a logo once years ago in Microsoft Publisher for a family member), send us some samples.

Send an email with a link to your graphic design portfolio to hikebama@gmail.com. That email should include your portfolio or a few of your favorite pieces, what you would envision relative to price, and your contact information.

If we think you would be a good fit for this project, we will be in touch!
