#HikeAlabama Update–Nov. 17, 12:45 p.m.–The missing hikers have been discovered and are safe according to Michelle’s son. Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word.
#HikeAlabama Community, we are asking for help in locating two missing hikers from the Sipsey Wilderness.
Michelle Pendleton and Shannon Ladnier left to go hiking on Friday, Nov. 15 around 9:30 a.m. to go see The Big Tree.
Later that afternoon, they contacted the local sheriff’s department around 4:30 p.m. letting authorities know they were lost.
The missing hikers are last believed to be located at the following GPS coordinates: 34.312439, -87.434252.
A search was conducted in that area with no luck locating the missing hikers.

The hikers remain missing as of Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 2019.
